About The Ball
Whether you're attending alone, as a couple, marking a special occasion, or reuniting with friends, the ball promises an evening of elegance and sophistication.
Celebrating its 9th year, the Deeping Summer Ball stands as a pinnacle of elegance and festivity on the Deepings calendar. With its black-tie and long dress code, it captures the essence of a glamorous summer evening filled with live music, gala dining, and spirited dancing, all set within the luxury Ballroom at the Stamford Arts Centre on 31st August 2024.
Beyond the grandeur and merriment, the heart of the event beats for a noble cause. The evening's proceeds from the fundraising activities will directly benefit our chosen charity, Dementia Support South Lincs, and by joining us, you are playing an instrumental role in enriching the lives of those affected by dementia.
From the moment of arrival, expect to be dazzled: a glass of Champagne in hand, the soothing melodies of our vintage singer, and the flash of our professional photographer preserving your best moments. As you make your way to the Ballroom, the bartenders stand at the ready to craft your preferred drink, while the warm tones of our Master of Ceremonies, Alan Jackson, and the gracious presence of organiser Sharon Roberts set the scene.
In keeping with our tradition of uninterrupted enjoyment, you won't be side-tracked by lengthy speeches. Instead, the spotlight shines on live performances from our 9-piece band, Groove Cartel, and the beats of our Master of Ceremonies – ensuring you're on your feet and lost in the music.

Location
Stamford Ballroom
The Ball takes place in Stamford, set in the Ballroom at the Stamford Arts Centre.
Location: Stamford Arts Centre, 27 St Mary's St, Stamford PE9 2DL
(Location changed from Market Deeping as we faced a major challenge this year with a substantial rise in supplier costs, making it difficult to meet our goal of hosting a 312-seat marquee event. Despite our best efforts, we've had to rethink our plans, and found the Ballroom to be the perfect location.)
The Charity
Dementia Support South Lincs is a small, local, independent charity which supports over 300 families affected by dementia in The Deepings, Stamford, Bourne and surrounding villages. The charity’s vision is “To continue to encourage, motivate and inspire those affected by dementia, giving them confidence to achieve as full a life as possible in the community”.
Dementia Support South Lincs
The charity was started in early 2011 by Kate Marshall and a small group of carers. Since becoming a registered charity in 2012, Dementia Support South Lincs has gone from strength to strength. The charity supports their members through monthly coffee mornings, therapeutic activities like art, tai chi and singing, a regular newsletter, social events, email contact and one to one visits. Social events include a Valentine’s Day lunch, a summer garden party and a Harvest Ceilidh where members enjoy an afternoon of music and dancing. The trustees, professional support workers and volunteers organise yearly outings to places like Grimsthorpe Castle, Rutland Water and a shopping trip to Springfields.
How They Make a Difference
The charity also runs a club for people living with early onset dementia. This means they have been diagnosed under the age of 65. The Square Hole Club has been meeting twice monthly in Market Deeping for six years. The club offers themed and stimulating activities for members whilst allowing their partners to take a much needed break.
The charity campaigns to make a difference with politicians both at a local and national level and supports national initiatives like Dementia Friendly Communities and Dementia Awareness Week.
